However, the manufacturer's specified interval still applies and should be followed. Skipping oil changes damages a hybrid engine just as it damages a conventional one.

Why do hybrid brakes last longer, and what's different about servicing them?
Hybrid vehicles use regenerative braking — the electric motor acts as a generator when you slow down, converting kinetic energy back into electricity and reducing the load on the friction brakes. This extends brake pad life significantly, sometimes to twice or three times the lifespan of a conventional vehicle. However, because the friction brakes are used less, brake fluid absorbs moisture over time without the heat cycles that would normally drive it out, and the caliper pistons can stick from lack of use.
